Dindoshi: Film City Road, towers and the highway
Dindoshi is a Goregaon East neighbourhood along Film City Road, close to the Western Express Highway, the Dindoshi court, the Aarey Colony edge and the Malad boundary. It is a mix of older chawls and low-rise buildings near the road and several large residential towers built in the last fifteen years. The Dindoshi metro station on Line 2A and 7 has made it more attractive for renters who commute across the city.
Film City Road is the key corridor. It climbs gently towards the Film City gates and Aarey, and traffic is heavy at office hours. Trucks heading to the highway face a long queue at the Dindoshi junction in the morning and evening, and we usually plan moves between ten and four. The towers have standard rules, such as lift booking, deposit and daytime hours, while the chawls near the road have narrow stairs and tight lanes.
Dindoshi has a lively film and television community, so a share of our work involves equipment: lights, cameras, costumes, props and musical instruments. These are packed in hard cases or foam, and we ask owners to carry the most valuable pieces themselves.
