How we pack a bike
- Bubble wrap and foam on the tank, handlebar, lights, mirrors and silencer, the parts that scratch first.
- Stretch film over the wrapped bike to keep out dust and rain.
- Loaded upright and tied in place inside the truck, so it cannot tip on the road.
Documents for moving a bike
- Copy of the registration certificate (RC).
- Copy of the insurance.
- Your ID proof.
As with a car, a bike kept in another state for more than 12 months has to be registered there, and an NOC from your current RTO is needed for that.
Before you hand over your bike
- Leave only a little fuel in the tank.
- Take photos of the bike from all sides, so you have a record of its condition.
- Remove helmets, bags and other loose accessories, and pack them in a carton.
- Note the odometer reading and hand over one key.
