How we plan an office move
- Visit both offices. We see what is moving, the lifts and loading areas, and the layout of the new floor.
- Move plan. You get a written plan with the date, the timing, the crew and the price.
- Labels. Every desk, cabinet and carton gets a label that matches a spot on the new floor plan.
- Packing. Files, computers and furniture are packed department by department.
- Move and placing. Everything is unloaded straight to its labelled spot, so your team finds its desk ready.
Files, computers and furniture
| Item | How it moves |
|---|---|
| Files and records | Sealed, numbered cartons, kept in the same order as in your cabinets |
| Computers, monitors and printers | Bubble wrap and padded cartons, marked with the user’s name or desk number |
| Servers and network equipment | Packed separately and handled on their own, after your IT team has shut them down |
| Chairs, desks and workstations | Stretch film and padding on edges and surfaces |
| Safes and heavy cabinets | Extra hands and trolleys, with the lift and stairs checked first |
What your team should do before the move
- Name one person in your company to coordinate with us.
- Back up your data, and ask your IT team or vendor to disconnect and later reconnect the network and servers.
- Book the lift and loading area with both building managements.
- Update your address on GST records, letterheads, your website and your Google Business Profile.
- Tell clients and suppliers the moving date and the new address.
Moving an office to another city
For a move to another city, the office goods travel by truck like any other load, and the move plan covers both ends. If the new office is not ready yet, the goods can wait in storage until it is.
