Moving house in Gurugram: what to plan for

Gurugram has three very different kinds of homes, and each one needs its own plan on moving day.

High-rise societies

Most towers on Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension Road, Sohna Road and Dwarka Expressway allow moves only in fixed hours. They usually ask for a move-out or move-in permission and a service-lift booking, and some take a refundable deposit. Ask your maintenance office early. We help you with the society letters and plan the packing around your lift slot.

Builder floors and plotted houses

In the DLF phases, Sushant Lok, South City, Palam Vihar and the older HUDA sectors, many homes are builder floors with a staircase and no lift. Large sofas, beds and fridges are carried down by hand, so the survey checks the stair width and turns before the crew size is fixed.

Urban villages and the old city

Lanes in Chakkarpur, Sikanderpur, Nathupur and around Sadar Bazaar are often too narrow for a large truck. Here the goods are carried out to the nearest wide road, or a smaller vehicle does the first stretch.

Traffic and timing

NH-48, Golf Course Road and Sohna Road slow down badly at office hours. Loading early in the morning or after the evening rush saves hours on the road.

Areas we cover in Gurugram

Our crew works in every part of the city. Here are 50 Gurugram areas we cover, with a note on what a move there usually involves.

DLF phases, MG Road and Cyber City10 areas
  • DLF Phase 1Plotted houses and builder floors near MG Road and the Delhi border. Many floors have no lift, so heavy furniture goes down by the stairs.
  • DLF Phase 2Independent houses and floors between NH-48 and Cyber City, with CyberHub close by. Loading is timed outside office rush hours.
  • DLF Phase 3Closely built blocks of rented floors next to Cyber City. Lanes are narrow and parking is tight, so the truck may have to stand on the main road.
  • DLF Phase 4Houses and apartment complexes around Galleria Market. Check whether your society needs a gate pass before goods go out.
  • DLF Phase 5High-rise condominiums along Golf Course Road with fixed move hours and service-lift bookings. Fix the date with your maintenance office first.
  • MG RoadApartment towers along Mehrauli–Gurgaon Road and the Yellow Line metro. Daytime traffic is heavy, so early loading works best.
  • Cyber CityGurugram’s main business district. Office moves here are best planned for evenings or weekends, so work stops for as little time as possible.
  • SikanderpurRented rooms and small flats around the Sikanderpur metro interchange. A small vehicle is usually enough for a 1 RK or 1 BHK move.
  • ChakkarpurNarrow lanes of PG homes and rented floors beside MG Road. The walk from your door to the truck can be long, so allow extra time.
  • NathupurAn urban village next to DLF Phase 3 with tall, narrow buildings and tight lanes. Moves here need more hands on the stairs.
Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension7 areas
  • Golf Course RoadPremium high-rise societies, each with its own rules on lift padding, move hours and deposits. Packing is planned around your lift slot.
  • Golf Course Extension RoadNewer towers where many families are moving in after possession. New societies may have only one service lift, so book your slot early.
  • Sushant LokPlotted houses and builder floors across its phases, close to Golf Course Road. Stairs-only floors are common here.
  • Sun CityA gated colony of houses near Golf Course Road. The gate may ask for the truck number and moving date in advance.
  • Sector 56A mix of HUDA houses, flats and group housing near the Sector 55–56 Rapid Metro station.
  • Sector 57Mostly plotted houses and builder floors, close to Golf Course Extension Road.
  • KanhaiAn urban village in Sector 45, full of rented floors. Lanes are tight, so the crew carries goods out to the truck.
Sohna Road and south Gurugram11 areas
  • Sohna RoadA long corridor of large group-housing societies. Traffic builds up at the main chowks, so the drive is timed outside the rush.
  • South City 2A township off Sohna Road with plotted houses and builder floors in a gated layout.
  • Nirvana CountryA gated township of houses and builder floors in Sector 50. Inform the gate before the truck arrives.
  • Malibu TowneA gated colony in Sector 47, just off Sohna Road, with independent houses and floors.
  • Mayfield GardenPlotted houses and floors in a gated layout across Sectors 50 and 51.
  • Ardee CityA gated colony in Sector 52 with independent houses and builder floors.
  • Uppal SouthendA gated colony in Sector 49, off Sohna Road, made up mostly of builder floors.

  • BadshahpurThe old town on Sohna Road, now ringed by new sectors. Its older lanes are narrow, while the new societies around it have lift rules.
  • Southern Peripheral RoadA belt of newer high-rise societies between Golf Course Extension Road and NH-48, many with fresh possessions.
  • SohnaA growing town south of Gurugram with new group-housing projects. Moves into the city are planned like local ones, with a longer drive.
Old Gurugram and HUDA sectors11 areas
  • Old GurugramThe crowded old city around Sadar Bazaar, with narrow streets and market traffic. Smaller vehicles and early starts work best here.
  • Sector 4One of the older sectors next to the old city, with closely built houses and floors.
  • Sector 14An established HUDA sector of plotted houses with its own market, close to the old Delhi road.
  • Sector 15Plotted HUDA houses in two parts. Parking on the inner streets is limited, so the truck slot is planned in advance.
  • Sector 17Independent houses and floors in an older HUDA sector near Sector 14.
  • Ashok ViharResidential colonies in three phases near the old city, mostly builder floors with stairs only.
  • Laxman ViharA densely built colony near the old city. Lanes are narrow, so goods are carried to the nearest wide road.
  • Shivaji NagarAn old city colony of small houses and floors with busy lanes through the day.
  • South City 1An older township near NH-48 with plotted houses and builder floors.
