Ramamurthy Nagar is an eastern Bengaluru suburb near KR Puram, Banaswadi and Hennur, spreading along Old Madras Road and the Outer Ring Road. It is largely a middle-income residential area where independent houses, rented portions and apartment complexes share crowded streets. A great number of residents commute to Whitefield, Marathahalli and the KR Puram railway station region, and the locality is well served by buses.
The area's main challenge is the narrow road network. Several internal streets are barely wide enough for a single truck, and street vendors, parked autos and small shops occupy the edges. We ask customers for a nearby landmark, such as a school or a temple, and our driver calls the customer from the main road before entering. When a lane is too tight, we use a smaller pickup to ferry goods to the main truck. This costs a little more but saves hours of delay and avoids damaged gates and walls.
Rental properties here often have steep stairs and no lift, so the crew carries items by hand. We bring extra people for heavy wardrobes, refrigerators and washing machines and use padded straps to protect walls.
