Secunderabad: cantonment, clock tower and old markets
Secunderabad is a twin city to Hyderabad, historically a British cantonment. Its landmarks include the Secunderabad Railway Station, the Clock Tower, Paradise junction, the Parade Ground, Sindhi Colony, Bowenpally, Trimulgherry and the SD Road. The old military areas have broad avenues, large colonial buildings and parks, while the commercial parts are crowded.
Cantonment roads are managed by the Cantonment Board, and some stretches limit heavy vehicles or close at specific hours. We check the rules for your road and plan routes accordingly. Around the station, SD Road and Paradise, traffic is heavy all day, and the narrow lanes in the market area are almost impassable at midday.
Housing varies widely. Colonial-era bungalows and army quarters have broad verandahs and large rooms, while the commercial districts have apartments above shops with narrow staircases. Army and government residents move on posting dates, often with formalities, and we follow your handover timetable. Families that have lived here for decades have a lot to move, so we advise starting the packing several days early. Typical moves are to Bowenpally, Trimulgherry, Alwal and Begumpet, with long-distance moves leaving from the railway station side or the Nagpur highway. The railway station is also a convenient option for customers who send goods by train and travel separately.
