Hadapsar: Solapur Road, industrial estate and Amanora
Hadapsar is a large and diverse suburb on the Solapur Road, with the Hadapsar Industrial Estate, the Magarpatta township, the Amanora Park Town complex and the Fatima Nagar area. It includes everything from workers’ housing to premium towers, and a visit to the neighbourhood shows how many different people live here.
The railway line and the Solapur Road divide the area, and level crossings and flyovers determine how fast traffic moves. Peak hours on the Solapur Road are long and slow, and the stretch between Hadapsar Gadital and the Magarpatta Chowk is notorious. For household moves, we generally avoid the evening peak, and when going to the west of Pune, we plan the route via the bypass or the Katraj side depending on the destination.
Gated townships such as Magarpatta and Amanora have strict procedures, including advance registration of the vehicle, restrictions on vehicle size, and fixed windows. The older neighbourhoods like Ramtekdi and Malwadi have narrow lanes and houses with limited access. The Industrial Estate involves a different type of work, in which small units shift machinery, stock and furniture. For those, we visit first, list the items and agree the timing with the owner of the premises. Typical local moves are to Magarpatta, Kharadi, Wanowrie and Mundhwa, and a good number of customers leave for Hyderabad and Solapur, for which the Solapur Road is a direct route.
