Moshi: PCNTDA sectors, the Nashik highway and Alandi Road
Moshi is a north Pimpri-Chinchwad suburb on the Pune–Nashik highway and the Moshi–Alandi Road. A large share of its land is in the sectors planned by the PCNTDA, with wide, gridded roads and plots, and it is home to the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Thousands of families work in the nearby Bhosari MIDC, Chakan and Talegaon industrial belts.
Compared with the older towns, Moshi’s roads are broad and its sectors are laid out clearly, making it easy for a truck to enter. The congested spots are the Moshi Toll Naka and the highway, where heavy vehicles queue at busy hours, and the Alandi Road during the Wari. We avoid festival and pilgrimage dates and tell you if the period seems risky.
Housing is largely new: apartment societies with lifts, row houses and bungalows on large plots. Many buyers are first-time owners moving from rented rooms in Bhosari or Pimpri, and the move is often from a small rented room to a larger flat. This is a good moment to sort and discard, since fewer boxes mean a lower cost. Typical moves are to Bhosari, Chikhali, Dighi and Chinchwad. Moves to Nashik, Mumbai or Aurangabad begin conveniently on the highway, and the exhibition centre area is a landmark for finding your address. Moshi is on the Pune–Nashik highway, north of Pimpri-Chinchwad, with the Moshi Pradhikaran, the Moshi toll plaza and fast-growing housing. The highway carries heavy trucks, and the area is dusty. New societies come with good gates and lifts, and the old village has narrow lanes. Distance from central Pune is large, so we plan a long day.
