Tathawade is a fast-growing residential area next to Wakad and Hinjewadi, with the Tathawade Phata on the Mumbai–Bengaluru highway as its main reference point. Over the past years, many large housing projects have risen here, targeting IT professionals who want to be near Hinjewadi but away from its traffic.
Even so, the highway service road and the Wakad–Tathawade stretch can be crowded. Peak-hour jams reach back from the Hinjewadi bridge, and during the evening they extend to the Tathawade junction. We usually propose a move between nine and twelve, when the road is relatively open, and finish unloading in the afternoon.
The societies are comparable to those in Wakad and Hinjewadi, with service lifts, deposits and fixed hours. Several buildings are new and still being completed; therefore, the lift may not be fully functional, and the corridors may have construction material. We check with the builder or the society office a day earlier, and suggest keeping the schedule flexible.
