Ranchi Lake, also called Ranchi Jheel or Bada Talab, is the artificial lake at the centre of the city, built by the British in the nineteenth century, with the Birsa Munda Park, the island temple and a promenade around it. Evening crowds make the schedule important. The roads around the lake fill with visitors after 4 pm, and parking is limited. We plan moves for the morning or early afternoon and avoid weekends and festival evenings. Lanes near the lake are of mixed width, and we ask for the house name, the lane and a landmark when booking.
