Before the crew arrives
Keep the lift slot, the parking for the truck and the key to the new home ready. Keep your valuables, documents and daily-use bag aside, and have the list of items from the survey handy.
Arrival and walk-through
The supervisor walks through every room with you, checks the list against what is actually going, notes existing marks on furniture and confirms the plan for the day. This is the time to point out fragile items and anything that stays behind.
Packing (a few hours)
The crew packs room by room: fragile items first, then clothes, kitchen, furniture wrapping and appliances. Cartons are labelled with the room and numbered. A full 2 BHK usually takes a morning to pack, and a 3 or 4 BHK takes longer.
Loading
Heavy furniture and appliances go in first, cartons next, and fragile cartons last on top of the load, so they come out first. The supervisor counts the cartons and the large items and shares the final list with you.
Transit
A local move is finished on the same day. A long-distance move is a number of days on the road; see the transit times on our route pages. You can call us for an update on the way.
Unloading and setup
At the new home, the crew unloads in the order of the room plan, places furniture and cartons where you point, and reassembles beds and wardrobes. Tell them which items go to which room before they start; it saves you moving things later.
Before the crew leaves
- Check the carton count and large items against the list.
- Switch on the main appliances to confirm they work.
- Note any damage in writing on the delivery sheet, and tell us the same day.
- Pay the balance only after you have checked the delivery.
